You Might Be an Access X-men...

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? What if you already have way more X-men capacities than you ever realized?

We may not sprout wings (yet) or shoot lasers out our eyes (usually!) but Access X-men have fully outfitted tool belts of consciousness superpowers. How do you know if you have them too? There are definitely some telltale signs.

Access X-Men energetically communicate with everyone and everything. It’s their first language. They don’t go about life linearly and they tend to be excellent multitaskers. They also don’t judge but can perceive judgments intensely (often thinking it’s theirs when it’s not). And, X-Men see possibilities that no one else can.

Whether or not you’ve acknowledged how truly different and aware you are, you might recognize some of the potent quirks and capacities of these Access X-Men:

If you’re the size of an average housecat but can command an audience just by walking in the room… you might be an X-Men.

“If you are technically having a normal-toned conversation with a person but you feel like they are yelling at you through a megaphone 1 inch from your face...

“If you are through with a conversation, 5 seconds has gone by, and you realize you never started to speak....

“When you just want to yell, ‘Get to the $#&@% point!!’ 2 seconds into a conversation ‘cause you already know what they are trying to say...

“If you have more ease speaking to your pack than to people...

“When sarcasm is your best friend and no one else gets it... you might be an X-Men!”

  • Cara Wright

“If you keep talking to your computer to ask for information and it gets back to you what you are asking for...

“If only you and google know everything about really obscure subjects or you are a trivia queen…

“If you give people what they will ask you for before they even do… you might be an X-Men.”

  • Elena Blanco

“If it’s easier to communicate telepathically than with words...

“If you laugh way before the joke is finished…

“If you respond to what people are thinking before they say it out loud… you might be an X-Men!”

  • Patty Alfonso

"If you have 50 windows open on your computer, while writing a book, finishing a half written email, feeding the dog, making supper for your kids, and engaging in a meeting all at the same time...

"When you buy a little dog and it’s actually a Chinese dragon and your son buys a dog that’s actually a prehistoric sonar bat, and you and others like you are the only ones that get it…

“When you’re working at a table at a huge 7-day class event, with lots of people who really want to talk to you and no one dares sit at your table and they don't know why but suddenly all they want to do is run away… (X-men really know how to send the not right now vibe!)

“When you have a permanent WTF wrinkle on your forehead because you don’t get this reality... you might be an X-men!”

  • Marnie Barranco

If your alter ego changes the world in fierce stilettos, you might be an X-men.

“If you don’t sleep and can work for 3 days straight...

“When you write an email starting in the middle then add the beginning and then the end…

“When you walk through the world following an invisible path called energy...

“If you talk to inanimate objects  like your car and they talk back…

“When you sit on a seat in a public place and you can perceive the information of everyone that ever sat there past, present, and future...

“If you are handed money and perceive everyone’s points of view about cash… you might be an X-Men.

  • Jeni Be

“If you stand in front of an orchestra of 180 seven and eighth grade students, raise your hand, and it becomes instantly silent… you might be an X-Men.

  • Mary Case

Kids who are Access X-Men might show up in even weirder ways (can you imagine?!) If there’s a little person in your life who you think might be an X-men, watch for unusual behavior…

“You might be an X-Men if you bite people.”

- Sul Wynne-Jones’ three year old son.

“You might be an X-Men if you have to constantly re-order the furniture in your house and others!” (Is the clay involved in that??)

  • Sul Wynne-Jones

When you ask contributors for a couple of quotes for an article and they open the flood gates, offering so many good options you have to question any conclusions you had about how that article might go, you might work with X-Men!

Where most of the world likes to judge people’s differences, we acknowledge and delight in knowing that not functioning like everyone else is a tremendous gift.

Whether you’ve been labeled with autism, ADD, OCD, or even simply just “weird” because you’re different, and if the capacities and potencies you have often don’t make sense to others, we’d like to thank you for being who you are! Access X-Men are the difference that can truly change the world.
